Thank you for visiting our Don Heights Unitarian website. Don Heights is one of 41 Unitarian congregations in Canada. We welcome people from any culture or faith background, including atheist and agnostic. We are a liberal faith grounded in important principals and shared values.
Our principles include compassion, commitment to justice and equity, and dismantling systemic barriers to full inclusion. We believe in diversity, exploring the mysteries of life, ethical living, working for peace, justice, equity, democracy, inclusion and the environment – the interdependent web of life, of which we are all a part.
We work for racial justice and for truth, healing and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
Sunday Services at 10:30am, featuring a speaker, followed by a congregational dialogue. Twice per month, the speaker is a Unitarian Minister. There is music from a guest artist or our choir. Our services include sharing Joys and Concerns. Don Heights donates to community charities in support of arriving refugees, service agencies and women’s shelters.
After the service is a social time with refreshments and bi-weekly potluck lunches.
Who Are We
UU Sources and Principles (Canada)
We, the member congregations of the Canadian Unitarian Council, covenant to affirm and promote:
- The inherent worth and dignity of every person
- Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations
- Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations
- A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
- The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large
- The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
- Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part
- Individual and communal action that accountably dismantles racism and systemic barriers to full inclusion in ourselves and our institutions
