Communication

Don Heighters have been communicating between Sundays by group email for almost two decades. In addition to the group emails utilized by some specific committees, we have three groups that are available to be used by everyone: DHAll, DHDiscuss and DHFun.

There are two types of email groups:

• discussion groups (e.g. DHDiscuss, DHFun)
• announcement groups (DHAll)

In both cases, an email sent to the group will be forwarded to all the members of the group. The difference is in what happens when you reply. In a discussion group, a reply will go to all the members of the group, facilitating discussion of the topic. For an announcement group, the reply will go only to the person who initiated the email, as the intention is ensure our members and friends are informed of activities and events of interest.

• DHAll: exists so that members and friends may make announcements pertaining to the business of Don Heights. Note that a reply to dhall will go only to the sender. It’s important to belong to dhall in order to keep aware of important happenings at Don Heights.
• DHDiscuss: exists as a forum for discussion about interesting, important, newsworthy or controversial matters about which people on a free and responsible search for truth and meaning will want to engage. A reply to dhdiscuss will be sent to all members of the group to encourage discussion. In order to reply to the sender only, delete ‘dhdiscuss’ from “To” and reply to the specific individual.
• DHFun: exists for “Fun”. This is for the jokes, the funny videos , beautiful pix and awesome powerpoints. Again, it’s a discussion group; a reply to dhfun will go to everyone.
